Gelezen in Maart 2026

We zitten alweer in April, en dat betekend dat er weer een maand voorbij is. In Maart heb ik aardig wat boeken er doorheen gewerkt. Het was een hele goede leesmaand voor mij! Dit zijn de boeken die ik heb gelezen in Maart.

To Sir Philip, With Love
Door Julia Quinn
3.5 out of 5.0 stars

Sir Phillip knew from his correspondence with his dead wife’s distant cousin that Eloise Bridgerton was a spinster, and so he’d proposed, figuring that she’d be homely and unassuming, and more than a little desperate for an offer of marriage. Except . . . she wasn’t. The beautiful woman on his doorstep was anything but quiet, and when she stopped talking long enough to close her mouth, all he wanted to do was kiss her…

Eloise Bridgerton couldn’t marry a man she had never met! But then she started thinking… and wondering… and before she knew it, she was in a hired carriage in the middle of the night, on her way to meet the man she hoped might be her perfect match. Except… he wasn’t. Her perfect husband wouldn’t be so moody and ill-mannered. And he certainly should have mentioned that he had two young – and decidedly unruly – children, as much in need of a mother as Phillip is in need of a wife.

As a young, queer couple who flip houses, Charlie and Eve can’t believe the killer deal they’ve just gotten on an old house in a picturesque neighborhood. As they’re working in the house one day, there’s a knock on the door. A man stands there with his family, claiming to have lived there years before and asking if it would be alright if he showed his kids around. People pleaser to a fault, Eve lets them in.

As soon as the strangers enter their home, inexplicable things start happening, including the family’s youngest child going missing and a ghostly presence materializing in the basement. Even more weird, the family can’t seem to take the hint that their visit should be over. And when Charlie suddenly vanishes, Eve slowly loses her grip on reality. Something is terribly wrong with the house and with the visiting family—or is Eve just imagining things?

Door Sarah Erin
3.0 out of 5.0 stars

Schoolyard Crushes & Prozac Prescriptions
Door Tori Lutz
5.0 out of 5.0 stars

This debut book by Tori Lutz explores the impact and rawness of first experiences, be it love or navigating mental health and trauma. Schoolyard Crushes & Prozac Prescriptions takes the reader through honest accounts of darkest hours and the beauty of innocence, even as it is lost.

Home In Motion
Door Tolu’ A. Akinyemi
3.0 out of 5.0 stars

This poetry collection is a foray into the mindscape of a migrant and his changing definitions of home; an exploration of physical spaces and psychological territories. Each poem in Home in Motion is a love affair between the poet persona and the cities that once offered him a warm bed; his allegiance torn between his place of birth and his residence.

The terse verses are like peeks through glass windows at ideal neighbourhoods. They embrace brief walks through the safe streets of nostalgia and return to the reality of fleeting seasons. The book explores themes of identity, community, migration, interrogating memory, and many experiences in-between.

Through several pages and cities of morphing metaphors, one definition stands “Home is where the heart finds the freedom to pull at strings of dreams, strike chords of ecstasy.”

When He Was Wicked
Door Julia Quinn
3.0 out of 5.0 stars

Everything was so much simpler… when he was wicked.

In every life there is a turning point. A moment so tremendous, so sharp and breathtaking, that one knows one’s life will never be the same. For Michael Stirling, London’s most infamous rake, that moment came the first time he laid eyes on Francesca Bridgerton.

After a lifetime of chasing women, of smiling slyly as they chased him, of allowing himself to be caught but never permitting his heart to become engaged, he took one look at Francesca Bridgerton and fell so fast and hard into love it was a wonder he managed to remain standing. Unfortunately for Michael, however, Francesca’s surname was to remain Bridgerton for only a mere thirty-six hours longer—the occasion of their meeting was, lamentably, a supper celebrating her imminent wedding to his cousin.

But that was then… Now Michael is the earl and Francesca is free, but still she thinks of him as nothing other than her dear friend and confidant. Michael dares not speak to her of his love… until one dangerous night, when she steps innocently into his arms, and passion proves stronger than even the most wicked of secrets…

Met zes boeken en vier gedichtenbundels was Maart nog best een goede leesmaand! Maar, als de moodreader dat ik ben, heb ik maar twee boeken van mijn TBR gelezen die ik vorige maand had gemaakt. Oops? Hoeveel boeken heb jij gelezen in Maart?

Dat moodreaden herken ik uit duizenden. We hebben geen boeken gemeenschappelijk, maar ik heb ook best een goede leesmaand gehad.
