Mijn TBR voor April 2026

Vorige maand heb ik een TBR gemaakt waar ik me totaal niet aan gehouden heb. En dat betekend dat we het deze maand gewoon nog een keer gaan proberen! Dit is mijn TBR voor April 2026.

I Know A Place
Door Nat Cassidy

There are locations in this world where the light doesn’t seem to reach. Where, no matter how illuminated the place might be, shadows creep in too strongly to fight back.

A suspiciously empty gas station rest stop in the middle of the night, littered with googley eyes… A doctor’s office, where a bottle of booze and a tear-stained folder wait on the desk… A tech millionaire’s haunted kitchen… A Bible-quoting ventriloquist’s dingy apartment… A yoga retreat in the middle of the desert, silent except for the screaming…

These supernatural and sinister locations are your destination, and bestselling author Nat Cassidy will be your guide. Featuring the Bram Stoker Award–nominated, critically acclaimed novella Rest Stop (one of Esquire’s Best Horror Books of 2024), along with a number of other original short stories, some which have never been published before, I Know A Rest Stop and Other Dark Detours is a travelogue down twisting side streets and through alleyways where the darkness has eyes…and teeth.

Let’s hope you make it home in one piece—if the ghosts, gory visions, and splatterpunk nightmares don’t get you first.

Molka
Door Monika Kim

Dahye can’t believe her luck when she finds herself in a whirlwind romance with handsome, charismatic Hyukjoon, the heir to a multi-million dollar fortune.

But then a shocking revelation threatens: the couple has been caught on a spycam amid Korea’s growing molka epidemic, and the video is all over the internet. When Hyukjoon flees the country to avoid the intense public scrutiny, Dahye is left to grapple with the ramifications on her own; and the demons from her childhood, long dormant, begin to surface.

Amid the chaos, she catches the attention of Junyoung, a nerdy, introverted IT tech at work. Junyoung harbours a dark secret: he has been spying on the women at work with his own hidden cameras. As Dahye’s life begins to unravel, she unknowingly becomes the sole target of Junyoung’s perverse obsession.

When the facts surrounding the invasion of her privacy come to light, Dahye is faced with the humiliating truth. Her pain and hurt turn to rage as she faces her past. Her desire for vengeance is insatiable, and she will not rest until the men who have wronged her have paid in blood…

CHAOTIK
Door T. Crissey

Turns out that random lady at Target was right when she said I was gonna die that day. I thought she was just mad about the parking space.

I got dragged by a bus. I got hit by an Amazon truck and then dragged by a bus. I died, but I came back. Untethered, supernatural as hell, and off my damn meds.

My name is Bright Leigh Greene. Well, it used to be before it got erased, along with every proof I ever existed. People with powers like mine are a threat to The Balance. Threats to the Balance get eliminated. I’d have ended up a meat puppet for a creepy Victorian ghost child if I hadn’t been found and recruited by a psychic with a heart of gold. Now I work with a team of misfits that includes a narcissistic former A-lister, a blue-eyed killer, and a golden retriever pyrokinetic. I fit right in. Our agency: Payback. Our motto: We do good things the bad way.

You want justice? Good luck with that. You want revenge? Talk to me.

But I’m having a very bad week. Someone from my old life is in trouble. Power-hungry tech bros in fancy robes kidnapped my psychic and my guinea pig. To save them, I’ll have to break every rule and risk having my soul ripped apart.

Better to be cautious. But I’m not cautious.

I’m CHAOTIK.

If you like your heroes mean, messy, and morally gray, you’ve come to the right place.

Two Bodies Are Better Than One
Door T. Crissey

Loaded with dark humor and sharp wit, this wild ride through the ’80s follows an advice columnist trying to unravel the mystery of the dead body on her lawn—while keeping her own secrets under wraps.

Until 1989, the wildest thing to happen in the sleepy town of Sheboygan Bay was surfers catching waves on frigid Lake Michigan. Then one summer morning, Lorraine Highsmith wakes up to find a corpse on her lawn.

Detective Michaela “Mike” Zenoni is on the case immediately, eager to make a name for herself in a male-dominated precinct. And Lorraine is close behind—as the local advice columnist, she’s always looking for a scoop.

What they don’t know is that Lorraine once had ties to the mob, and those connections could be coming back to haunt her. A recent transplant to Wisconsin, she keeps her past shrouded in mystery, and she’d like to keep it that way.

Mike might be working with her to find the killer, but Lorraine knows that alliances can change on a dime. She needs to get ahead of this story . . . no matter who’s trying to put an end to hers.

This time, he vows to attain the gratification that once eluded him: all who defied him will fall, and never again will they treat him like a dog.
